Eric Robert Vaughn
Formal schooling can go only so far in developing an artist. While Eric
Vaughn experienced that formal training in photography through a variety of
college courses during the 1990's, he has now moved well beyond that. He's a
professional in any sense of the word, having studied both the artistic and
the technical aspects of his trade in great detail, and also having served
various roles learning from recognized experts in the field. His academic
training has been valuable, but his hands-on experience working as the
in-house photographer for a major corporation, a lab technician, an
independent professional, and everything between has prepared and qualified
him to adapt fluidly to his environment.
His resume can only feature some of his skills, but it gives a brief insight
to his versatility and qualifications. He's won awards, participated in
shows, and currently teaches undergraduate college courses in photography.
His portfolio is varied and impressive. He understands and efficiently uses
the equipment and tools of his trade. While his interests are mainly in
architecture and fine art, he's skilled at dealing with all the little
things which make a subtle difference in any photographic subject.
Personally, Eric also defies easy categorization. Even at his advanced age
(mid-thirties), he can still handle a skateboard, but he can also
thoughtfully discuss politics and philosophy. He's soft spoken and listens
to NPR, but is also up on the current music scene. He enjoys traveling and
learning new things. His varied interests are a natural outgrowth of his
upbringing. The adults around him were also comfortable in diverse
environments, and his brother and step-brothers brought everything from
motorcycle mechanics to British humor and sophisticated literature into his
home.
Eric Vaughn is an excellent photographer and person, with a gentle humor and
commitment to professionalism in all that he does.
